Job Description

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our dynamic team focused on data science, machine learning, and crude trading. Collaborating closely with data specialists, software engineers, and commercial teams, the ideal candidate will contribute to the development of machine learning models and applications.

The Data Scientist will play a crucial role in the project workflow, from defining project requirements with stakeholders to data processing, analysis, and model implementation. The role involves working with complex and varied data sets, requiring a passion for exploring data to drive results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop machine learning systems
  • Engage with the Crude trading business to identify opportunities for AI/DS solutions
  • Explore new datasets, derive insights, and visualize results
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and tooling decisions to enhance team efficiency

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience in developing machine learning models
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with coding best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of ML fundamentals and frameworks

  • Knowledge of energy or commodities trading industry
  • Experience with integrating ML systems into interactive dashboards
  • Application of ML methodologies in real-life scenarios
  • Enterprise software development experience
  • Experience with data orchestrators and cloud-based pipelines
