Senior Critical Care Transport Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Critical Care Transport Physician to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of patient transfers, including giving advice at the initial referral call, coordinating logistics, stabilizing patients, and ensuring safe and efficient transfers from referring centers to accepting intensive care units.
Main Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of patient transfers, including referral and transport documentation, advice, and logistics coordination.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including paediatric intensive care staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referring centers and accepting intensive care units to ensure smooth patient transfers.
- Participate in the design and delivery of education and training projects, including simulation training and experience.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance projects and audits.
- Collaborate with the NWTS education team to design and deliver education and training projects.
- Medical Degree
- ST6 or above in a relevant specialty
- MRCPCH/MRCP/FRCA or equivalent
- GMC registration and a License to Practice at the point of application
- Experience in paediatric or adult intensive care
- APLS
- Experience in transportation of critically ill patients
- CCT in a relevant specialty
- Experience in anaesthesia, including higher level paediatrics
- Experience in managing patients with congenital cardiac disease
- Basic training in intubation
- Basic training in venous access (including central)
- Basic training in arterial line insertion
- Previous experience in organisation and delivery of educational activity
- Experience of audit
- Effective Communication Skills
