At Creative Assembly, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Art Director to join our Survival Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for directing the artistic vision and providing day-to-day direction to the art team. Your primary focus will be on communicating the vision internally and with partners, ensuring that our games meet the highest standards of creative excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of art content production and industry-standard game tool sets. You'll be responsible for creating and directing the art vision and visual development from concept to screen, as well as building, inspiring, and motivating the art team to deliver the best experience for the player.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the artistic vision and provide day-to-day direction to the art team
  • Communicate the vision internally and with partners
  • Create and direct the art vision and visual development from concept to screen
  • Build, inspire, and motivate the art team to deliver the best experience for the player
  • Oversee the implementation of the art vision in-game
  • Focus on both aesthetics and efficiency of content and content production
  • Effectively collaborate with peers and partners across the team to maximize overall performance
  • Work with production to iteratively plan and execute on all art deliverables
  • Communicate effectively with all engaged in the project (internal and external)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of leading art teams and visual direction within a game development environment
  • Demonstrate skilled management of time and resources to achieve aims, and adjust accordingly
  • Demonstrable track records as art lead/owner on one or more released products
  • Proven experience of delivering projects using Unreal Engine
  • Exceptionally talented and motivated artist with strong traditional art skills and formal art education
  • Deep understanding of art content production and industry-standard game tool sets
  • Deep understanding of art content implementation with a history of hands-on in-game implementation (Unreal or other)
  • Broad understanding of the art fundamentals and curious approach to all forms of visual culture (e.g. art history/architecture/graphic design/design/advertising/fashion etc.)
