About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecologist to join our team as a Technical Director. As a key member of our Ecology team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our technical expertise in ecology, while also mentoring and supporting colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of technical excellence and solutions based on relevant best practice and research.
  • Supervise and review the development of standard technical solutions and verify that outputs meet expected quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development of a strategy to develop opportunities for the technical area, including identifying links between research-based projects and generating work for the wider team.
  • Manage projects, including scope, cost/revenue budgets, third-party deliverables, and change control.
  • Be able to negotiate and discuss fees and Terms and Conditions, bespoke contracts, and warranties as appropriate.
  • Have demonstrable experience of fulfilling task timescales and achieving deadlines, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and third parties regarding risks and potential issues.
  • Complete Tetra Tech's Project Management training to Level 2.
  • Have line management responsibility, including timesheet signoff, pastoral care, and duty of care as appropriate for the technical specialism.
  • Lead the mentoring and development of staff in line with strategic goals for the technical specialism.
  • Be involved with business development activity, including having an awareness of market conditions, opportunities, and competition for the technical specialism and the identification and delivery of opportunities with new and existing clients.
