Job Description

This Admin Apprentice role at Equals One Ltd is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in a commercial admin environment within the home improvement industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Contracts, Building, and Installation teams. This includes ensuring all admin tasks are completed accurately and on time, developing admin and customer service skills, and working towards achieving a level 2 or 3 business administration qualification.

The ideal candidate will have excellent IT literacy, organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. They must also be highly motivated, with a can-do approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enter customer contact data onto the business document control system and administer cancellations and on hold data.
  2. Confirm deposit payments and process contracts through building surveyors.
  3. Obtain finance approval confirmation prior to processing contracts.
  4. Administer variations to customers' finance applications as and when contract variations arise.
  5. Assist with building control queries and gather relevant information.
  6. Support with planning submissions and planning fee payment on required projects.
  7. Conduct general admin duties including scanning and photocopying.
  8. Liaise with builders to collate photo evidence and checklists for new build living spaces and ensure these are filed digitally.
  9. Deal with trade personnel queries and develop excellent relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  10. Respond to email and telephone communication in a timely and efficient manner.
  11. Evaluate complex customer service/installation queries and escalate to the Project Manager if necessary.
  12. Maintain and update relevant spreadsheets of information.
  13. Produce timely and accurate reports as requested.
  14. Accept contracts from Surveyors and collect stage payments and final balance chases on contracts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Develop skills and knowledge in a commercial admin role.
  • Excellent IT literacy (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Good communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Able to apply a calm and professional manner when dealing with dissatisfied customers.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Able to understand plans and drawings.
  • Positive can-do attitude and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

About the Role:

We offer an estimated salary of £25,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will work within a busy office environment, supporting our Contracts, Building, and Installation teams. The role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
