The Derbyshire County Council is seeking an exceptional Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our dedicated team of professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting the growth and development of children in a dynamic educational environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to equal opportunities for learning
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere
  • Identifying and addressing barriers to learning, providing innovative solutions to improve student outcomes
  • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development of educational programs

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A level 2 (or above) TA qualification
  • Two recent years' experience of working in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • An understanding of phonics and the ability to teach quality phonics lessons to groups of children (RWI preferred)
