Job Title: Portering Manager

We are currently working with a UK Facilities Management provider to recruit a Portering Manager for a site in the Oxford area.

The Role

The Portering Manager will lead the delivery and development of the Portering service within the facility. Working closely with the Helpdesk and the wider soft services team, the role will coordinate the activities of the Portering team to ensure services are provided in a timely and effective way as per the contract and to KPI with minimal or nil payment penalties.

The role is responsible for ensuring porters are of the necessary competence, training, back-up, and support to deliver high levels of customer service in line with the contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the activities of the Portering team to ensure services are provided in a timely and effective way.
  • Ensure porters are of the necessary competence, training, back-up, and support to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Work closely with the Helpdesk and the wider soft services team to achieve contract and KPI requirements.
  • Take the lead in the management of all specified operational delivery requirements and company objectives in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide support and mentoring to other team members as required, under the guidance of the Account Manager.
Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of domestic and porter services in hospitals and the operational challenges and opportunities faced on a daily basis.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with all levels.
  • Excellent management skills to organise and deliver a consistently high standard of service.
