About the Role

Celanese Corporation is a global leader in the production of differentiated chemistry solutions and specialty materials. We are seeking a skilled Process Technician - Electrical Specialist to join our team at the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant in Newport, South Wales.

As a Process Technician - Electrical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production lines. Your focus will be on safety, health, and the environment, ensuring reliability and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion equipment via control room and field-based control systems
  • Respond to breakdowns, perform basic fault finding, and support maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor plant performance and diagnose faults
  • Maximize reliability through executing operator care rounds
  • Work within a shift team to ensure delivery of individual and team responsibilities and objectives
  • Conduct detailed shift handovers
  • Operate a forklift truck (training will be provided)
  • Issue work permits for operations and tanker offloading areas

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Electrical apprenticeship
  • Experience in fault finding using a systematic approach
  • Experience with instrumentation and measurement equipment
  • Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
  • Experience of SAP and Distributed Control Systems (DeltaV)
  • FLT license
  • Competent working with PLCs
