About the Role

As a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Smart Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our SMART Lumio classroom collaboration tool. This tool is used by teachers and students around the world, and your contributions will have a direct impact on their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in project concept meetings to determine test requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, procedures, and documentation to ensure thorough testing of the product.
  • Design and automate functional, performance, and other tests to identify and report defects.
  • Conduct exploratory testing for individual components or features to identify potential issues.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs to resolution, ensuring timely communication with the project team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Dedication to product quality and test engineering as a craft.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical diploma or University degree in a related discipline, such as Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Previous industry experience in software testing, with a focus on quality assurance and test engineering.
  • Authorized to work in Northern Ireland.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with test automation, software development, and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Exposure to open-source testing tools, including RobotFramework, Selenium, and Appium.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration systems, such as TeamCity, and Git workflow.
  • Experience with UI and usability testing, as well as web software testing.
  • Proficiency in Chrome DevTools and familiarity with iOS and Android device testing.
