Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Underwriting Associate Analyst to join our SME Underwriting team based in Glasgow. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for discussing the performance of SME contracts with client managers, supporting quotes and renewals activity for the SME book of business, and identifying financial risks involved.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review case-specific risk assessments within GEH
  • Negotiate terms with Sales and Client Management
  • Monitor account earnings plans to achieve growth and profitability
  • Analyse performance and provide detailed feedback to support portfolio management
  • Support Experience Underwriters with large group cases
  • Manage complex schemes, including partnerships, top-ups, and combined propositions
  • Mentor junior members of staff
  • Provide monthly reports to key stakeholders

Scope and Dimensions:

This role reports to the Underwriting Senior Supervisor and requires a deep understanding of all aspects of the business. You will work closely with various departments, including Sales & Client Management, Finance, Actuarial, Systems, Legal services, and Operational teams.

  • Knowledge of processes, procedures, and systems
  • Good business and product knowledge
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills
