Budwood, a part of Polaris Community, is a dedicated provider of Residential Care and Support to children and young adults facing emotional behavioral difficulties, as well as social and emotional mental health challenges. Our mission is to create a nurturing and stable environment for these young individuals who may have experienced adverse childhood events. We offer comprehensive support and guidance to ensure their safety and equip them with essential life skills for a successful transition into independence.

Our Team & Values

We are seeking compassionate Residential Support Specialists to join our team on a casual basis, providing flexible coverage across various shifts. This opportunity allows you to contribute your expertise while maintaining control over your schedule. As part of Budwood, you'll collaborate with a supportive and dedicated team committed to fostering individual growth and well-being.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate experience working with children and young people, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
  • Exhibit flexibility in your availability to cover shifts, including sickness leave, annual leave, and sleep-in shifts as required.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of our young residents by promoting a protective environment.
  • Cultivate positive and trusting relationships with the children and young adults under our care.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, demonstrating willingness to receive guidance and direction.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and talents among our residents.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Possess a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce qualification, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Hold a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle due to travel requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check if successful in your application.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous.
