About the Role
  We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Assistant to join our team at a secondary school specializing in SEMH education. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, developing essential life skills and promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  2. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students.
  3. De-escalate situations when necessary and provide positive reinforcement to students with challenging behavior.

Requirements
  Experience: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH is essential.
  Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  Education: A level 3 qualification in a relevant field, such as child care or youth work.
  Training: Training in SEMH and de-escalation techniques is preferred but not essential.

What We Offer
  • Salary: An attractive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Contract Type: Temp-perm contract depending on performance.
