Position Overview:

Sterling Cross is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in a specialist secondary school near Guildford.

The school provides a tailored environment for children and young people aged 10-16 years old with SEMH as their primary area of need, with or without additional areas such as sensory differences and SLCN.

The successful candidate will join a strong Multi-Disciplinary Team in delivering targeted interventions according to Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practices, enabling students to feel valued, develop new knowledge and skills, and gain the confidence they need to flourish and look forward to their next steps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted interventions to students with SEMH and other SEN
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT to develop and implement individualised plans
  • Contribute to the development of the school's therapeutic approach
  • Participate in regular CPD and training to maintain expertise and skills

Person Specification:

  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)
  • Membership (or eligibility for) of the RCSLT
  • Previous experience with SEMH and other SEN in the context of children and young people
  • Previous experience working within an educational setting (desirable)
