Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Advisor to join our team in Telecoms Network Security. As a key member of our Network Security team, you will be responsible for establishing and supporting the rollout of a network security regime for communication providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with other members of the team to respond to and assess telecoms and digital infrastructure company responses to security and resilience incidents.
  • Support the rollout, management, and monitoring of a programme promoting the adoption of new legislation underpinning the Telecoms Security Regulation.
  • Work with colleagues in Ofcom investigations teams to provide technical support in relation to enforcement activity.
  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders, Government, and other relevant agencies to ensure policy goals are aligned and effectively coordinated.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Security assurance and risk management, including managing remediation plans, evaluating technical vulnerabilities, and identifying control measures.
  • Cybersecurity threats, including understanding threat actors targeting Ofcom's regulated sector and associated cybersecurity threats.
  • Telecoms technology and architecture, including understanding fixed and mobile architectures, and maintaining awareness of current and emerging telecoms technologies.
  • Articulating ideas, including written and oral communication skills, and presenting to internal and external audiences.
  • Executing plans, including experience in project management, developing and delivering plans, and managing risks and issues.
Qualifications
  • Relevant professional qualifications.
  • Maintains UK security clearance or is willing to undergo a vetting check.
