Job Title: Avoidance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Avoidance Engineer to join our team at VEA Telecoms Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth installation and maintenance of our underground infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance: Conduct Test, Rod & Rope (TRR) activities to ensure the integrity of our cable routes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Interpret cable diagrams, duct plans, network diagrams, and schematics to identify potential issues.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Perform risk assessments and create detailed reports to inform our operations team.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with cable routes, particularly in underground networks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and quality procedures.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with site supervisors and clients to keep them informed of project progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience as a TRR or Cabling Engineer is essential.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Full UK Driving Licence, NRSWA, SA002, S7 PIA Sub-duct and Cable Installation, and K8 - Hand Roding and roping (desirable).
  • Technical Abilities: Proficient with mobile devices and tablets for work purposes.
  • Required Skills: Attention to detail, initiative, mathematical and telecommunications knowledge, manual dexterity, customer service, and strong will/determination.
