Job Title: Telecoms Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Telecoms Engineer to join our team at VEA Telecoms Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth installation and maintenance of our underground infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Maintenance: Conducting Test, Rod & Rope (TRR) activities to ensure the integrity of our underground cable networks.

Technical Proficiency: Interpreting cable diagrams, duct plans, network diagrams, and schematics to identify potential issues and optimize our infrastructure.

Reporting and Evaluation: Performing risk assessments and creating detailed reports to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.

Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with cable routes, particularly in underground networks, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and quality procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Communication: Collaborating with site supervisors and clients to provide timely updates on project progress and address any concerns.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience as a TRR or Cabling Engineer is essential for this role.

Licenses and Certifications:

Full UK Driving Licence

NRSWA - (Street Works Operative)

SA002 - Safety Underground

S7 PIA Sub-duct and Cable Installation

K8 - Hand Roding and roping (Not Essential)

Confined Spaces Level 2 (Not Essential)

Technical Abilities: Proficient with mobile devices and tablets for work purposes, with allowance included for use at work.

Required Skills:

Attention to Detail: Precision and thoroughness in tasks to ensure high-quality results.

Initiative and Problem-Solving: Ability to tackle issues independently and provide effective solutions.

Mathematical and Telecommunications Knowledge: Understanding relevant technical concepts to optimize our infrastructure.

Manual Dexterity: Skilful use of hands for practical tasks, such as cable installation and maintenance.

Customer Service: Effective communication and service skills to provide excellent customer experience.

Strong Will/Determination: In order to prevent the need for Civils call outs and ensure seamless operations.

Driving Licence Required - Work vehicle provided.
