Job Title: Learning Assistant - Ware, Hertfordshire

The role of a Learning Assistant is to provide support to students with severe learning difficulties. As a member of our team, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver individual education plans and promote the learning objectives of each student.

We are currently recruiting Learning Assistants to join a specialist school in Ware who caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties aged between 2 and 19 years who may have singular or multiple difficulties, including challenging behaviour and complex needs.

Key responsibilities include:
• Attending to students' personal needs, including social health, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters
• Providing clerical/administrative support to assigned teachers
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of individual education plans
• Monitoring and evaluating students' progress and maintaining records

For this role, we are looking for individuals who are willing to work towards obtaining relevant qualifications, attending training, and taking responsibility for their own development. We require someone who can adapt their communication style to suit the needs of the children and young people they are working with. The successful candidate will be able to work supportively as a team member and confidentially when working independently within a range of settings.

• Permanent contract, Monday to Friday, term time only
• 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time (43.6 weeks per annum)
