Building Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our Building Surveying Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Manage projects effectively, utilising your in-depth knowledge to assess the most appropriate course of action presented by each site visit.
- Take the technical lead on specific surveying topics, including advising, mentoring, and remaining up to date with relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct.
- Organise and deliver capital and revenue schemes, utilising a variety of traditional design, specification, and intelligent client project management commissioning methods.
- Work collaboratively with the Building Surveying Team Manager to lead and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary approaches to the asset management of the built estate for both freehold and leased buildings.
- Strong technical skills and a flexible approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate on several different levels with multiple stakeholders.
- Previous formal training or professional qualification, such as a surveying degree, is necessary for this role.
- Significant relevant experience in the application of building surveying and extensive experience in its application.
