Job Title: Asset Building Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Building Surveyor to join our team at West Sussex County Council (WSCC). As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough site visits to assess building conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports on your findings, including recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with our Regional Facilities Manager (West) to develop and implement effective asset management strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary approaches to the asset management of our built estate, including freehold and leased buildings.
  • Support long-term planning of our service, ensuring continuous improvement and business continuity.
  • Mentor and provide on-the-job training to other team members to meet objectives and deliver a professional service.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building regulations.
  • Extensive experience in building surveying and asset management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel independently around the county, including to areas with limited public transport access.
