About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our Building Surveying Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our built estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects effectively, utilising your in-depth knowledge to assess the most appropriate course of action presented by each site visit.
  • Take the technical lead on specific surveying topics, including advising, mentoring, and upholding best practice standards.
  • Organise and deliver capital and revenue schemes, utilising a variety of traditional design, specification, and intelligent client project management commissioning methods.
  • Work collaboratively with the Building Surveying Team Manager to lead and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary approaches to the asset management of the built estate.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong technical skills and a flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate on several different levels with multiple stakeholders.
  • Previous formal training or professional qualification, such as a surveying degree, and significant relevant experience in the application of building surveying.
