Communications Specialist

About the Role
Horatio's Garden is seeking a skilled Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in creating and implementing our digital strategy, focusing on storytelling and impact.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a content calendar that showcases our charity's impact and stories.
- Collaborate with the team to produce engaging written, photographic, design, and video content.
- Manage our social media presence, scheduling content and responding to comments and messages.
- Assist with internal communications, keeping staff informed about key updates.
- Help maintain and update our website, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for our audience.
- Collate and analyze data on social media, newsletter, and website activity, presenting insights to inform our strategy.
Requirements
- Strong interest in creating content for digital channels.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills, with attention to detail.
- Able to create accessible, engaging content that resonates with our audience.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft suite, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp.
- Video editing experience or interest, with a willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar.
