Job Title: Senior CDM and H&S Consultant

At Turner & Townsend, we're passionate about delivering exceptional results for our clients. As a Senior CDM and H&S Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of defence construction projects in the UK.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced CDM and H&S professional to join our team in Leeds. As a Senior Consultant, you'll be responsible for delivering CDM and H&S consultancy services to existing and new clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding client needs and proactively identifying solutions to their challenges
  • Ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence in meeting client needs and expectations
  • Developing existing systems and processes to improve CDM and H&S efficiency
  • Providing expert advice and acting as Principal Designer, helping clients manage and understand their legal responsibilities under CDM regulations
  • Establishing positive relations with existing and new clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate
  • Representing Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner, including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients in a timely manner
  • Managing all commissions, ensuring client expectations and Turner & Townsend's business management system are effectively discharged
  • Carrying out H&S performance reviews, audits, and other tasks on behalf of clients
  • Liaising with SHQ and wider Turner & Townsend colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness and support others as needed
  • Compiling and creating relevant pre-construction information and H&S files
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise your workload to meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills to generate reports and documents
  • Solutions-driven approach
  • Creative thinking
  • Excellent client empathy
  • Extensive knowledge and experience within the construction industry, specifically around CDM regulations
  • Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors, with a proven ability to meet client needs
  • Experience as a Principal Designer
Qualifications

You'll need:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent)
  • GradIOSH or equivalent
  • Membership of the APS
