About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unit Manager to lead our care team at Wytham Lodge, a brand new care home in Burnley. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of nursing and care colleagues, driving quality, and maintaining high standards of care on your unit.

With a strong focus on person-centred nursing care, you will work at a senior level, under the leadership of the Clinical Nurse Manager, to oversee the clinical elements and risks of your unit. You will also be responsible for ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your nursing leadership skills to make a real difference every day. You will be a natural role model, with the ability to manage your unit's team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, and Health Care Assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead your unit's care and nursing teams to ensure high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks on your unit.
  • Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Act as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review, and update of their care profiles.
  • Supervise and manage the ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording, and disposal of medication.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A first-level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN.
  • Post-registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications.
  • A thorough understanding of best practice in nursing care.
  • A good standard of digital skills.
