Aerospace IT Support Specialist

Prismatic Ltd is a leading technology development company specializing in innovative aerospace products and systems. We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team at our main site in Alton.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems, such as the high-altitude PHASA-35, addressing critical customer needs. As a subsidiary of BAE Systems, we adhere to high operational standards while working on projects with significant commercial value.

The successful candidate will independently provide first and second-line technical support, maintain hardware and software systems, and ensure smooth IT operations within a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to our secondary site in Oxford may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support and Problem Solving: Provide first and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues, working independently to diagnose and resolve problems, and escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • System and Network Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain end-user computers, server infrastructure, printers, and peripherals. Support the monitoring and maintenance of LAN and Wi-Fi networks to ensure consistent connectivity and security.
  • Security and Compliance: Adhere to IT security protocols, manage data backups, and ensure compliance with company policies and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Software and Asset Management: Install and update business software, manage asset inventory, configure devices for deployment, facilitate replacements, and handle user migrations.
  • User Support and Training: Assist new starters with IT setup, communicate IT policies, manage user access, and provide guidance on systems and software use, including audiovisual support for meetings.
  • Documentation and Vendor Coordination: Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, software licenses, and IT activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Minimum Level 3 qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in IT support or related roles.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10) and Microsoft Office Suite, Linux-based system knowledge beneficial.
  • Certifications (Optional): ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a 10% pension contribution from the company. Interviews are conducted virtually or at Alton.
