About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading innovative industrial and off-road systems company that has been in operation for nearly 100 years.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing industrial systems and related off-road products, working closely with our team of engineers and support personnel. As a key member of our team, you will be reporting directly to the Operations Director and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop industrial systems and related off-road products using 3D CAD software and hand calculations.
  • Collaborate with electrical design engineers to update existing designs and develop new products.
  • Support the technical author in the creation of technical documentation.
  • Work with our ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar) to manage Bills of Materials and product data.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, large fabrications, and low-volume product experience.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and respond to technical enquiries.
Requirements
  • Degree in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Mechanical or Product Design Engineering.
  • Ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with experience in an engineering and product design environment.
  • Ability to lead a small team of engineers and collaborate with other departments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with a range of software, including 3D CAD and ERP systems.
