Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Mechanical Engineer to join our client, a market-leading innovative industrial and off-road systems company with significant growth expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical products in 3D, including 2D detail production drawings.
  • Update existing designs in conjunction with electrical design engineers.
  • Support the technical author as required.
  • Work with an ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar) and associated Bills of Materials.
  • Utilize 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor or similar) and hand calculations, with experience in FEA Design.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, large fabrications, and low-volume product experience.
  • Support production with technical enquiries and provide expertise in industrial, rail, off-road, or heavy platform product design.

Requirements

  • Degree in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Mechanical or Product Design Engineering.
  • Ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer.
  • Experience in an engineering and product design environment.
  • Ability to lead a small team of engineers and liaise with electrical engineers and other departments.
  • Commutable to the South Derby area.
