About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the revolution of personal mobility and transform towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. As an Electrical Power Electronics Design Expert, you will provide support across projects and teams to design, implement, and test motor control units to meet system and equipment requirements and a certifiable standard for aerospace applications.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with project teams to define specifications and lead design reviews
  • Develop, debug, and validate power electronics for use in inverter and converter products for aerospace applications
  • Simulate and evaluate EMC, power, and thermal models
  • Support power electronics verification activities through the product lifecycle
  • Generate technical documentation, including designs, analysis, simulation, and reviews
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or relevant industrial experience
  • Proven experience in relevant industry with knowledge of power electronic devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, wideband gap devices, Capacitors, Current sensors)
  • Experience in designing robust gate drive circuits for wideband gap switching devices including component protection mechanisms
  • Proficiency in power electronics design, including schematic layout, PCB layout, component selection, and modelling, simulation, and analysis of power devices for inverter systems
  • Ability to perform design analysis, including worst-case, tolerance, thermal, and stress analysis
  • Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
