Job Overview

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and coordinating of drivers to meet the demands of the business. This role involves managing and planning next-day deliveries, debriefing drivers upon their return to the depot, and completing general administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with drivers to ensure that Wincanton's fleet utilisation is maximised.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To administer the movement of vehicles (and associated activity) received and despatched from the site in a timely, safe and accurate standard.
  • Drive backhaul volume through the fleet by working with the wider network.
  • Manage customer relationships ensuring that communication is good, and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately.
  • To undertake all activities in line with the KPI requirements/service agreements for that area.
  • To help develop a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in-class activity and operational excellence.
  • To be accountable for personal Health and Safety practices.

Requirements:
Experience in a transport or logistics environment as a transport administrator would be highly valued but not essential. Administrative experience is essential. Previous experience of Transport Management systems is advantageous. Preferred knowledge of relevant driver legislation. Excellent administration skills. Attention to detail to ensure accurate records maintained. Ability to work under strict timescales and work under own initiative. IT literacy to include Excel, Word and Outlook. Team player, self-motivated, flexible and confident. A salary of £25,000 per annum is offered.
