Job Summary:

The role of Strategic Regulatory Lead at Michael Page Legal involves overseeing the delivery of legal investigation and presentation services. This includes managing internal and external teams to deliver high-quality results, implementing quality, timeliness, and value for money targets, and creating a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

About the Role:

  • Lead the delivery of legal investigation and presentation services, managing internal and external teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Implement quality, timeliness, and value for money targets for all teams, using review and control metrics as needed.
  • Create and lead a presentation management team to support the function, promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Implement a system of risk management, mitigating and escalating risks as appropriate.
  • Work with the Executive Director, Regulation, and their management team to understand fluctuating operational issues, flexing resource and managing and escalating risk as appropriate, to ensure the organisation's statutory objectives continue to be delivered.
  • Develop productive professional relationships with defence organisations, external legal providers, and other professional organisations to ensure the efficient management of cases, including consultation on projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and provide expertise to projects and strategic workstreams across the organisation.
  • Significantly contribute to the leadership of the Legal and Governance Directorate, proposing and implementing strategically aligned projects, and ensuring the teams of the Directorate work constructively and cooperatively.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory or criminal law and best practice is required.
  • Extensive experience of successfully leading and developing a high-performing team of lawyers and support staff responsible for delivering high-quality, timely civil, criminal, or regulatory casework at best value is essential.
  • Able to set clear expectations and targets in relation to performance and promptly tackle poor performance issues.
  • Experience of building and maintaining productive working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including defence organisations, external legal firms, and heads of Chambers.

What We Offer:

Salary between £82,800 - £102,100, depending on experience.
