Paediatric Staff Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the care of children and young people in our busy department.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides high-quality patient care, with a focus on delivering excellent outcomes and experiences.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Care for children and young people with various conditions and injuries
- Conduct initial and secondary assessments, making informed decisions about treatment and care
- Treat minor and major illnesses and injuries, as well as providing ongoing support and management
- Listen to the voices of children and young people, prioritizing their needs and concerns
- Safeguard children and young people from harm or neglect
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the region, offering a range of services and specialties. Our Emergency Department is a critical component of this effort, caring for adults and children with serious illnesses or injuries.
The department features 8 resuscitation beds and 43 major cubicles, ensuring patients receive timely and effective care. We also have a separate Paediatric ED and a state-of-the-art helipad, facilitating the transportation of critically ill patients.
A key aspect of our department is its commitment to staff well-being and development. We offer a modern staff facility with shower access, a new staff room, education room, and wellbeing retreat.
Required Skills and Qualifications- 1st level Registered Paediatric Nurse
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing workload
- Strong understanding of child development and psychology
- Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software
