Paediatric Emergency Department Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Emergency Department Lead to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in leading the team and coordinating the flow of the Paediatric Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team and coordinate the flow of the Paediatric Emergency Department
- Manage Paediatric standbys in Resus and SDEC pathways
- Develop and support new staff, promoting a high standard of evidence-based care
- Collaborate with the Nurse in Charge and other senior staff to ensure effective patient care
- Support the development of the Paediatric Emergency Department and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Our Emergency Department at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital provides care for both adults and children who attend with serious illness or injury. We have a state-of-the-art staff facility, education room, and wellbeing retreat for all staff.
Requirements
- 1st Level Registered Paediatric Nurse
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support Skills
- Teaching/assessing qualification
- Manchester Triage Skill/initial and secondary assessment experience
- Significant Emergency Department paediatric experience
