Sales and Purchase Ledger Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced accounts administrator to join our team as a Sales and Purchase Ledger Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial records, including daily nominal ledger postings, payroll preparation, and bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Daily nominal ledger, sales, and purchase ledger postings
- Submit and prepare PAYE payments, set up weekly and monthly payroll, and maintain holiday/sickness data
- Process bank transactions, petty cash, and transfers, regularly reconciling all bank and cash accounts
- Post monthly journals, submit VAT returns, and assist external accountants with year-end accounts
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role
- Able to use initiative and work independently
- Strong IT skills, proficiency in Word and Excel
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Compensation:
- Competitive salary: £38,000 per annum
