About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Professional to join our dynamic and vibrant Defence project team in the Maritime Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (MEOSPO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, analyse and report on engineering concepts and risks;
  • Manage the configuration of guided weapons and explosive ordnance items;
  • Plan and deliver critical engineering activities;
  • Provide advice to stakeholders;
  • Mentor junior members;
  • Enable good inventory decisions with quality and timely engineering advice.
About Our Team

MEOSPO is an integral part of Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB), which is part of the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance Systems Division (GWEOSD). Our team is made up of various disciplines, including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services.

Requirements
  • Be a highly proactive and organised Engineer;
  • Have demonstrated experience as a productive and collaborative team member delivering high quality engineering activities;
  • Have a background in explosive ordnance, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering;
  • Be a clear and concise communicator, strong team player, able to analyse, interpret and apply engineering guidance, policy and regulations;
  • Take the initiative to resolve issues by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action.
