About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company as a Construction Tradesman Development Underwriter, working from home with regular Broker meetings and team get-togethers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trading, negotiating, and underwriting new business and/or renewal of existing business in accordance with the company's strategy.
  • Achieving budget income, Loss Ratio, Rate, and Retention Targets while delivering excellent Customer Service and Underwriting standards via open market trading and the online trading platform.
  • Assisting with the prioritization and allocation of new business quotations, midterm adjustments, renewals claims experience, pre-quote work, and declinature of business falling outside the company's underwriting strategy.
  • Striving for maximum efficiency, development, and profitability and contributing to creating a culture of excellence.
  • Identifying and seeking out additional key risk information required to adequately underwrite and price risks.
  • Working with Broker Development Managers on distribution strategy.
  • Processing Policy Amendments.
  • Resolving accounts and claims queries.
  • Collaborating with the technical team where required for existing product improvements and new product development to improve loss ratio results.
  • Assisting underwriting in managing performance of schemes generated.

This role requires a minimum of 2-3 years of previous UK Contractor/Tradesman underwriting experience.
