Job Title: National Account Manager- High Street and Specialist

At Michael Page Sales, we are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to join our dynamic sales team. As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with High Street and Specialist retail customers, driving volume, distribution, and profit within the account base.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for your customer, managing both immediate and long-term relationships to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Daily Business Planning: Develop and execute daily business plans, leveraging diverse solutions to maximise profits and minimise costs.
  • Commercial Acumen: Identify, manage, and deliver profitable solutions to commercial, operational, and seasonal challenges.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement the internal annual operating plan, driving sales, profitability, and operational targets in collaboration with the customer.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the delivery of high-level plans, contractual commitments, joint business plans (JBP), and overall business objectives.
  • Communication and Influence: Influence cross-functional teams and represent customer needs internally.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead weekly alignment meetings, post-implementation reviews, and update meetings with the support of the wider team. Assist in the development and mentoring of team members.
Requirements:
  • Account Management Experience: Previous experience of Account Management, skilled across new business and business development.
  • UK Convenience Retail Experience: Previous experience of successfully working with UK convenience retailers and have a proven successful track record of deliverables.
  • Negotiation and Storytelling: Skilled, natural negotiator and story teller, leading customers and stakeholders through the journey with you.
  • Data Analysis: An ability to work accurately with numbers and data, evident in their interpretation and use when influencing your customer and stakeholders.
  • Commercial Acumen: A high level of commercial acumen, skilled with numbers and excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent working knowledge of the grocery retail market, alongside macro and micro influences impacting it. Adept at relationship management and have great communication skills, which you are able to flex with your varied customer/stakeholders as necessary.
