Housing Enforcement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Housing Enforcement Specialist to join our team at Social Care Locums. As a key member of our regulatory service, you will be responsible for carrying out duties connected with providing a Private Sector Housing and Licensing Service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a full and varied case workload to meet legislative and departmental time frames.
  • Investigating complaints, such as disrepair, illegal eviction, or harassment, and dealing with unlicensed properties and other housing-related matters.
  • Carrying out enforcement intervention in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedure.
  • Inspecting properties using HHSRS and ensuring that properties meet the minimum required standard.
  • Preparing legal court prosecution case files and giving evidence at court.

You will work in collaboration with the wider service and ensure compliance audits and enforcement activities are carried out in accordance with current legislation and the council's enforcement policy.

Additionally, you will take an active role in promoting community development, providing advice and information to customers and stakeholders, and attending landlord forums and other forums as required.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Housing Legislation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
