As a key member of our team at Kenyon Block Consultants Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Housing Enforcement Specialist to join our Environmental Health function.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Environmental Health and a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent, along with post-graduate experience in Housing law enforcement.

Key responsibilities will include undertaking visits, inspections, surveys, and investigations as directed, utilising the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System to identify defects and their remedies.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, confident, and possess excellent investigative, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake visits, inspections, surveys, and investigations as directed.
  • Undertake monitoring and sampling, using appropriate technical equipment.
  • Keep and maintain paper and electronic office records, produce reports, and complete statistical returns as required.
  • Carry out environmental health duties as may be required, including work outside normal office hours.
  • Maintain agreed performance targets and meet the requirements of relevant performance management and inspection regimes.
  • Attend meetings as a representative of the Authority as may be necessary, some of which may be outside normal office hours.
