- Previous experience working as a buyer/purchaser in an FMCG role or a position involving negotiation and relationship-building
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Google Sheets/Excel and Word
- Experience with client communication, including phone and email interactions
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Valid driving license
- Familiarity with Apple products, including iPhone and iMac
- Similar industry knowledge, particularly in the pet food sector
- Calling and emailing suppliers to compare prices and negotiate costs
- Entering data into the CRM and sharing it with the sales team
- Researching and negotiating transport rates with suppliers
- Liaising with accounts and sales teams on various matters
- Managing supplier documentation and photos
- Building relationships with suppliers through visits and trade shows
- Email marketing and social media lead generation
- Staying up-to-date with market prices to source products at the best rates
