Localization Editor - French, German, Italian, or Spanish

We are seeking a highly skilled Localization Editor to join our team at The Language Business. As a Localization Editor, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of translated materials for our global video games and media entertainment brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Edit and proofread a wide range of video game-related materials, including press releases, websites, social media copy, and video subtitles.
  • Ensure consistency in language terminology and style across all languages.
  • Collaborate with the translation and editing team to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Oversee QA processes to review, revise, and proof translated materials in context.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of games being promoted to ensure accuracy of content.
  • Work closely with other languages to maintain consistency and quality across all languages.
Requirements:
  • Mother tongue proficiency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
  • Translation and editing experience, preferably under regular deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local culture for language of expertise.
  • Creative writing style, adaptable to the type of content.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to understand how different tasks interact.
  • Proficiency in CAT tools, particularly MemoQ, and ability to learn new processes and software.
  • Flexibility, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure.
  • Passion for video games is a plus.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: £39,000 - £59,000.
  • Monday - Friday, 09:30am-5:30pm, 1 hour lunch.
