As a Converter Control Software Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge control systems for large multi-megawatt wind turbines. Located in our Keele office, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers to specify, implement, test, and configure power converter control systems for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy wind turbines.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing new control software features and making changes to existing control software features. Your tasks will include proposing, simulating, and testing new configurations/tunings for existing converter control features, investigating issues reported from turbines or test rigs, and developing simulation and test environments for testing converter control behavior.

Requirements

We're looking for a driven individual with a passion for renewable energy and a sense of the importance of leading the change. You'll need experience implementing control software for simulation and/or real-time operation, knowledge of 3-phase, 2-level, power electronic drives & Pulse Width Modulation, and experience with C, C++, or other similar programming experience. You'll also need an engineering degree that includes a significant proportion of electrical/electronic/software engineering, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate technically complicated topics concisely.
