Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Research and Development team as a Graduate Research and Development Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the wind energy industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering components, defining product requirements, and developing detailed solutions for system integration. You will work closely with our UK R&D team and wider engineering team to maintain internal and external contacts at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer components to satisfy customer requirements
  • Define products and subcomponents, including their characteristics and requirements
  • Develop detailed solutions for system integration
  • Take responsibility for the realization of components with required functionality
  • Work as a team member with other members of the UK R&D team and wider engineering team
  • Maintain internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Research into new and emerging technologies
  • Evaluate potential technical solutions and evolve them into design solutions
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Produce detailed technical specifications for procured items
  • Validate components/equipment in laboratory/wind turbines
  • Create system models and utilize them to perform simulations
  • Control system design and implementation
  • Software design, coding, and testing
Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences
  • Genuine enthusiasm, interest, and ability in research and development
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal) to liaise with suppliers
  • Ability to grasp new concepts
  • Thorough & methodical mentality
