Civil Engineer Specialist

Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer Specialist to join our team at Fife Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional and technical input into the management and maintenance of our road-related bridges and structures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in designing and managing projects related to road structures replacement and/or strengthening schemes. They will also possess excellent analytical and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work without supervision.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical input into the management and maintenance of road-related bridges and structures
- Designing and managing projects related to road structures replacement and/or strengthening schemes
- Conducting inspections and assessments of bridge capacity
- Managing sub-standard structures and developing strengthening and maintenance works programmes
- Engaging with community and statutory stakeholders in the planning and management of projects
The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF level 10, with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent. They will also be a member of an appropriate professional body and registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council.
