Academy Finance Officer

Financial Control and Coordination
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in the management and coordination of all aspects of school finances. They must be highly numerate, able to absorb complex information, and use their own initiative to monitor 'difficult to forecast' spends such as supply, energy and examination costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance Manager in the management and coordination of all aspects of school finances
- Monitor 'difficult to forecast' spends such as supply, energy and examination costs
- Process income and expenditure
- Produce cheques/bacs/direct debit payments for authorisation
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Process End of Year/Payroll Journals
Lunch Cards and School Trips
Key Responsibilities:
- Control the issue of Catering Cards, including organising the new Year 7 import and co-ordinate delivery of cards and access codes
- Be responsible for the costing of school trips
- Process income and expenditure
- Manage support requests
- Analyse and reconcile trips after the event
Asset Register and Training
- Maintain a computerised register
- Produce monthly reports
- Carry out yearly stock/audit checks
- Maintain records of all outstanding fees and expenses
- Process orders, invoices and expenses
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Highly numerate and able to absorb complex information
- Use own initiative
- Excellent attention to detail
Work Location: In person. Ability to commute/relocate to Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Enhanced DBS preferred.
