About the Job

We are seeking a Primary SEN School Assistant to join our team in a small, family-feel primary SEN School based on the outskirts of Preston. The school caters for children aged 4-12 with additional needs, mainly Autism. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team that views each child as a true individual with their own strengths, aspirations, interests, and areas for development.

The role involves providing academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs, building positive relationships, and promoting pupils' development through the curriculum. The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on the location and requirements of the job.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Providing academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Building positive relationships with students and supporting engagement difficulties.
  • Promoting pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development through the curriculum.
  • Supporting daily activities in the classroom and participating in days out and trips.
  • Experience supporting children or adults, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Health care assistant or support worker experience desirable.
  • Confidence in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Nurturing and motivated personality.
