An esteemed primary school in the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Autism specialist teaching assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
Job Description:- This full-time position requires an experienced special educational needs teaching assistant who has worked with young pupils on the autism spectrum.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the autism spectrum and be able to use specific IEPs to provide effective support to the pupil.
- Able to keep the pupil focused on their work and aware of any particular triggers that may cause a behavioural reaction.
- Must have a variety of de-escalating techniques to help control the pupil and the situation.
- Prior experience working with SEN pupils is essential, as each day presents different challenges.
- Passion for working with children with autism is crucial, as this role can be emotionally testing.
- Resilience and tenacity are key to succeeding in this challenging yet rewarding position.
