We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at Turning Point. As a Support Worker, you will be working with an individual who experiences autism, epilepsy, and sometimes displays challenging behavior. Your role will be to provide daily support and enable the individual to live independently in their local community.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Supporting the individual with daily activities, such as cleaning, cooking, and personal care
- Developing and implementing a daily routine to promote independence and structure
- Assisting with medication, manual handling, and ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard
- Supporting the individual in their personal interests and hobbies
- Collaborating with the individual's team to ensure a consistent and predictable environment
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is fit and active, with good communication skills and the ability to work independently. You must be able to work strategically to reduce anxieties and improve the individual's quality of life. You will also need to be patient, understanding, and able to work in partnership with the individual's friends and family.
