The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in Archives or Library conservation and possess good practical skills. They will be responsible for carrying out interventive conservation treatments and providing preservation advice on library and archive materials for the 15 member colleges of the consortium.
The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of materials, from early manuscripts to modern archives, and cover paper, parchment, and binding conservation. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of historical binding structures and the ability to carry out high-quality conservation work.
The Cambridge Colleges' Conservation Consortium provides a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and conditions of employment, including a pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, car parking, and use of College facilities.
The successful applicant will be a dedicated and self-motivated individual, able to work both independently and as part of a small team. Good communication skills at all levels and a diplomatic approach are essential.
