About the School

Selwyn Hall School is a specialist education provider for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Our pupils may have diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety and/or communication and interaction, cognition and learning needs.

Our bespoke groupings of 4-6 children ensure every pupil receives individual attention to succeed. The school is situated within private grounds, creating a therapeutic environment to focus on pupil health and wellbeing.

We have space for outdoor learning experiences, including forest school, a multi-use sports pitch, sensory trail, conservation area and play equipment. Inside, the refurbished building offers classrooms and activity rooms for science, computing, music, drama and art.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach all allocated curriculum areas, planning, preparing and presenting lessons for the whole ability range.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Motivating pupils through enthusiastic presentation
  2. Collaborating with colleagues, parents and professionals to ensure a high standard of education
  3. Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, providing regular feedback
  4. Using teaching strategies and resources to promote engagement and learning
  5. Maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment
  6. Maintaining discipline in line with our Behaviour Policy
Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have successful Primary School Teaching experience
  • Have a good knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Be able to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs
