Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced drafter to join our team as a Prisoner Casework Specialist Advisor. The successful candidate will have excellent drafting skills, strong generic casework knowledge, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Providing high-quality briefing for senior officials, including Ministers and the CEO
  2. Drafting responses to correspondence from prisoners, policy colleagues, and other stakeholders
  3. Preparing first drafts of submissions, advice, and letters on incidents, contentious issues, and Ministerial enquiries
  4. Monitoring the review of adjudication appeals from prisoners in respect of determinate and indeterminate sentence prisoners
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written content under pressure
  • Strong generic casework knowledge, with a good understanding of how establishments function
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
