Exciting Opportunity in Community Support
Our organization is expanding its services and is seeking empathetic and innovative individuals to take on the role of Support Practitioners on a full-time, permanent basis (39 hours per week).
No prior experience in care is necessary, as we focus on values and transferable skills, providing comprehensive training to all new team members.
Position Overview
As a Support Practitioner, you will be an integral part of our friendly team, offering assistance to individuals with disabilities and/or additional support needs in their own homes within the community. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of daily living, including meal preparation, medication management, attending appointments, and facilitating activities. You will also help with personal finances, moving and handling, and personal care. Additionally, you will provide emotional support and help maintain relationships with family and friends.
The individuals we support enjoy engaging in community activities, from arts and crafts to attending local events and dining out. We encourage you to take an active interest in their hobbies and help them explore new interests.
Key Qualifications
- A caring and empathetic disposition.
- Strong observational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
Work Schedule
Our dedicated team provides round-the-clock support tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Depending on shift length, you may support more than one individual, with travel time included in your hours. Shifts may include early mornings, days, evenings, and sleepovers.
Compensation for Sleepovers
Sleepover shifts are compensated separately, with an additional payment of £99.20 for each sleepover covered.
